Have you ever felt the pull of the moon? That deep, intuitive sense that something bigger is guiding you? In Tantra, we often say the moon is more than a celestial body—it’s a mirror for our inner rhythms, our emotional tides, and our sacred potential. By aligning with its phases, we can amplify manifestation, release old patterns, and access a deeper current of healing.

 

Here’s how I’ve used lunar rituals in my personal practice—and how you can begin, too.

 

🌑 New Moon: A Time to Plant Seeds
The new moon is all about beginnings. When the sky is dark, we go inward, tune in, and dream forward. I like to think of this time as fertile soil for intention-setting.

 

Try this:

Journal: What do you wish to create in the coming cycle? What do you want to embody?
Candle Ritual: Light a candle that matches your intention (blue for peace, red for passion, green for abundance).
Visualize: Feel the energy of your desire becoming reality. Anchor it in your body. Then blow out the candle, sealing your intention in the universe.

 

🌕 Full Moon: A Portal for Release
The full moon brings light to what’s been hidden. It’s a time to let go, shed emotional weight, and step into your next evolution.

 

Try this:

Sacred Space: Light incense or sage. Sit in stillness.
Write + Burn: List what no longer serves you. Burn the paper as a symbolic release.
Somatic Breath: Inhale clarity. Exhale what you’re ready to release.

 

I’ve done this ritual under countless moonlit skies, and each time, I feel a little lighter—more aligned, more me.

 

🌕 Moon Bathing: Absorb Lunar Light
Moon bathing is a deeply nourishing practice. It’s an energetic cleanse, a meditation, and a recharge all at once.

 

Here’s how:

  • Find a cozy outdoor spot on a clear night
  • Bring a shawl, a warm tea, and an open heart
  • Gaze or close your eyes—let the moonlight touch your skin and spirit

 

It’s like soaking in lunar medicine. You’ll feel it.

 

🖋 Moon Journaling: Deepen Your Reflection
The moon amplifies our inner voice. Try journaling under the moonlight and let her guide your pen.

 

What to journal:

  • How do I feel under this phase?
  • What am I learning about myself?
  • What dreams are stirring?

 

This is one of my favorite ways to track emotional and energetic cycles over time.

 

🧘 Moonlit Yoga: Move with the Moon
Yoga under the moon is pure serenity. I love offering this during retreats—soft movements, open hearts, luminous energy.

 

Suggested poses:

  • Cat/Cow for rhythm
  • Child’s Pose for surrender
  • Heart openers for release
  • End in meditation. Let the moon hold you.

 

Embrace the Lunar Rhythm
